Research Resources of the Clinical Research Unit

Our CRU monthly newsletter summarizes recent news that may be of interest to UAB researchers focused on eye disease and vision impairment.

This month's issue

  Backissues

Below is a Table of Resources made available through the Clinical Research Unit to investigators in order to facilitate patient-oriented research on eye disease and vision impairment. Pre-Award activities are those involving development of the project idea and design and procuring funding support for the project. Peri-Award activities are those tasks involved in setting up the execution of the project including regulatory compliance. Post-Award activities involve carrying out the research project including budgetary and regulatory oversight. Other activities include mentoring of junior investigators and consultation on revision and resubmission of grant applications.

In order to make use of the CRU research resources, please contact Karen Searcey, Clinical Research Unit Manager, at searcey@uab.edu or phone (205) 325-8310. We highly recommend that, whenever possible, you contact us during the earliest phases of designing and implementing your project. This will be better for the project and will allow our resources to more efficiently work for the project.

As an additional resource, the CRU has a series of downloadable slide presentations on various topics relevant to the conduct of patient-oriented research. To view any of these presentations, simply click on its icon below.
